In this episode, Tone Deaf Rick and Pom Pom Jeff follow the kids as they dive to new depths, in the sewers? What, wait…that cannot be safe. And it is not. But they have to throw away their safety, sanity, and sense of smell in order to save a kitten………seriously…..a kitten…..they are like, so much better than me, which is a really low bar. Anyway.  You should support us on Patreon, https://www.patreon.com/JeffandRickPresent so we can save more kittens from the sewers.

  1. Hi Jeff & Rick! Another great episode! The rapid-fire references had me rolling with laughter. Doctor Who, TMNT, Star Wars, Goonies and many more! Ha! And the Hitchhikes was especially clever!

Since you’re naming underground comics, Jeff Parker (that is, Portland’s own Jeff Parker) wrote an awesome graphic novel called UNDERGROUND. All about being hunted through a cave system. Great comic! Well worth checking out. And I bought my copy in Powell’s Books!

On a previous episode you mentioned an Amazing Heroes article about Power Pack. I just came across one myself the other day! Not sure if it’s the same one you were referencing, but it’s also online here: http://starlogged.blogspot.com/2012/02/amazing-heroes-magazine-power-pack.html

Also referencing an older episode, the giant alien snake … SERENDIPITY! I knew it sounded familiar.
My buddy Siskoid and I reviewed the MARVEL TEAM UP ANNUAL #7 featuring the same snake on the first episode of his FW TEAM-UP PODCAST! Love me some Alpha Flight! Maybe a little too much.. http://fireandwaterpodcast.com/podcast/fwteamup1/

Final question, your daughter’s voice is insanely adorable. Is that actually the sound of her voice, or have you pitched it up in editing to break the adorable-meter? Just wondering. My daughter is 12 now, so no more adorable voices. 😦

Thanks for the wonderful entertainment! Keep up the great work!

    1. Soooo much to unpack (heh)! Underground, I will look it up and check it out.

Yes, those are the articles we were referencing. A great trove of information.

I had not heard your episode on that. I will drop that link on our page as a reference. Thanks.

I don’t mess with the pitch of my daughters voice. She just has that damn cute voice. And she is a really good kid. I do work with her on some of the lines, and I have had to do some splicing to get the right delivery together….but just wait till the next episode when she introduces herself to June Brigman.

      Thank you for the comments.

  2. Alright guys, it’s been awhile, but I have some more sciency questions regarding the Power Pack’s powers. One, especially, that pertains to Alex’s desire to fly instead of float and Jack’s bemoaning not having an offensive-based power.

Previously, I asked if Jack could feel anything or get hurt by anything when he is in cloud form. I loved the explanation and thank you. However, I have another.

Does Jack’s conversion to cloud or miniature form possess a kinetic component? By that, I mean when Jack turns to cloud form does he exert a generally outward force to maintain the cloud form? If he does, then could Cloud-Jack be “bottled” and released in a controlled manner? Or more probably, shrunk to fit in the nozzle and then re-expand to “pressurize” the bottle and be used by Alex as a form of re-usable propellant? Of course, he could also shrink to fit in the nostril of a hypnotizing snake and then forcably expand to blow him up.

I would be disappointed if you did not take this opportunity to make some juvenile cracks about squirting out Jack-gas.

Thanks for a great podcast and tell Carrie she is the best Katie or Carrie that I know. Cindy isn’t a half bad Julie, either. Jeff does a great Jack. Maybe you could get Jean Claude Van Damme or Kiera Knightley to voice Alex?

    Thanks again.

    TJ
