Power Pack #52: The Bitter End

You can listen to the episode by clicking: Episode 69.

Beer and Cover

Did you all check out that cover….Yes? No? Check again. Notice the costumes. Got it? Good. This happens.

Jack Unleashed

You may be asking yourself how we got here. If you are, good. That is a great way to start. Well let me tell you, it is because of a lot of unpleasantness from the big Q.

Pose For Me

She has been mean before, but now she has really pushed the line. She has made her bed, and she has to sleep in it. She has crossed the proverbial line, and now must pay the piper.

Trophy Hunter

Not only has she taken the kid’s powers, but she is holding them up by the hair. There is mean and evil, and then there is just bad manners. You do not go pulling someone’s hair just because you can. Are we on a playground here!?

Raspberry Insult

Apparently we are. Way to keep things classy there Franklin. I mean….sticking out your tongue at a queen. What kind of manners have your parents taught you….you know…when your parents were around and not in another dimension?

Spinnin!!!

But now we get to the good stuff. Now we get to the part in the western where the bar fight happens, and the scrappy hero starts to throw the punches around.

Steppin Up

You know the scene. Everything looked hopeless and then the tide turned. Then a second wind happens. Then the small child has the alien on its back. Then it is time for the final act.

Are Ya All Ready for This?

And what a final act it is with the hero boy bright and glowing and ready to lay the smacketh down.

  1. You guys do a great job. I was never a PP fan growing up, but now I want to dig into my longboxes as I know I have several from yard sales and prepackaged buys.

I also would suggest using Carries “wang, bang, thud!” Sound bite in the outtakes from now on. It really brings home the crash and burn of the outtake.

    Thanks for the entertainment!

    1. They are worth a read through, if you have any on hand.
Rick grabs the sound effect he likes from the episode to use… don’t think that I can break of the habit. Not all of the outtakes are crash and burns, some of them are simply sputtering fails. 😉 That and some non-sequester jokes that had no place in the show.
Glad we can entertain. That is the main reason we are doing this.
Talk to you later my friend.

  2. The Power switches is one of the really novel twists in this series. Silver age comics would have things like this happen, but they’d be undone by the end of the issue. Making it an ongoing thing in Power Pack was so fun and unique, I almost wish the all-ages series had dabbled in it, even temporarily. Ah well.

Alex: “Oh man, I got a power I don’t know how to use again, because I’m a teenage grumpy grump. Wah!” Sure, Alex, sure.

Jack getting the Destroyer power. Another step towards his rise into super-villainy is complete. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Wonderful episode, my Pack-Men, albeit for one of the lower tier issues. I’m sure next issue will get back on track. Right? Right? Guys, why are you sitting in the corner? Are your eyes supposed to twitch like that? Guys?

    1. Yup, I wholeheartedly agree with you on the powers swapping. I love the consistency that they have in regards to the lore. The all ages version does put the toys back on the shelf at the end of a story line, so if they did a power swap it would only be for a few issues.

Ah Alex, mister the grass is always browner in regards to powers.

Jack the super villain, we know it, his siblings know it, even Maraud knows it…even odds say that he is the big bad in the upcoming series.

Glad you enjoyed the episode, and we are twitching with joy in case you were wondering…
