We have one word for you: SMORELOCKS…… Don’t worry, you will get it later.

Charging Alex

Oh….I have more words for you: Miles Stokes from Jay and Miles Xplain the X-Men! ( https://www.xplainthexmen.com/ )

Your Hosts

Yes! We have the most awesome and excellent Miles on our show…..because it is about time we did!  Ok…to be fair, that may not have worked as well as I wanted it to. Moving on, don’t look back!

Sliding Pack

This episode is the intense Mutant Massacre crossover. While primarily focusing on the mutant X-Titles, the Simonsons decided to bring in their own properties of Thor and Power Pack to witness the horrific death and destruction brought on by the Marauders…..yay?

Grieving Children

Don’t you worry none, there is some fun stuff too…I guess.

Taunting Franklin

Jumping Jack

Resting Julie

And what do our sweet, sweet kids have to endure? Just death, violence, a nearly shirtless Wolverine, and Sabertooth.

Standing Wolverine

Good times?

Falling Children

So grab your galoshes and check your Red Cross Donor card, because it is time to go back in the sewers!

Dying Aligators

Like always, if you don’t want to listen you don’t have to…but if you don’t, guess what….Jack will hit you….and you would not want that.

  1. Whoa, I loved this episode so much! You guys and Miles were hilarious! Definitely in favor of you all teaming up again sometime. In fact, maybe you should have a third person on the show for issue #29! Nah, that’s crazy talk.

All of the art and story picks are on point. I have nothing to add to that. (Who are you, and what have you done with Tim?) Oh ok, one thing…

Jack’s mega-Gee punch. It makes sense that a rough-n-tumble kid like Jack would use the G-power more aggressively than Alex. But this panel was just a small taste of how far it could go. Alex was able to lift an OCEAN LINER! Imagine if Jack could channel that much power into one strike. JACK SMASH!

Are Marauders’ shoulders colder or bolder? Depends on the beholder.

Miles as Scalphunter. Oh my freaking Thor, that was fantastic!

Marianelli’s art piece is NICE! Might have to check out more of his stuff.

Till next time, … Smorelocks. LOL!

    1. It was a fun episode to record, and Miles was a delight to spend time with. He was also very understanding of me being an hour late due to traffic (which was not the worst I have seen, but really, really bad). His Scalphunter was AMAZING! He knocked it out of the park with that one. I am always trying to come up with appropriate, distinct and repeatable voices for characters and he did that perfectly.

“Maybe you should have a third person on the show for issue #29!” I like the cut of your jib mister! What a great idea! In fact, I think that you should do it because I can’t get anyone else on such short notice. 🙂 (Thanks for joining us by the by, it was a lot of fun)

Having to make an assumption about the Mega Gee punch, and that it denses up or protects your hand some how, otherwise there is going to be some messy damage done to your self if you push the power to hard.

As to the Marauder shoulder question, I think that the answer is: Yes.

      So, till next time, Smorelocks!

  2. I realize I’m really late to the party and it was, ultimately a very minor part of the episode, but I’m a bit surprised you didn’t even mention the Yahoos from “Gulliver’s Travels”

    1. Hi, Katidon!

Late to a podcast? Never! You are like a wizard, you arrived exactly when you were meant to. 🙂 That said, I did have to put some miles on the way back machine for this one.

Could you elaborate? I looked up your reference and came up with: “The Yahoos are primitive creatures obsessed with “pretty stones” that they find by digging in mud, thus representing the distasteful materialism and ignorant elitism Swift encountered in Britain. Hence the term “yahoo” has come to mean “a crude, brutish or obscenely coarse person”.

I am all set to agree with you and say that I wished we brought this subject up, but I am trying to figure out what we were discussing that would have tied it together. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

In any case, thank you for listening and taking the time to write to us.

    2. Hey, so I went back and relistened to the episode and figured out what section you were referencing. It was when Franklin told the Marauders to “go back to Yancy street ya yahoos”, and then we riffed on it for a bit. Yours was an excellent and astute observation and I applaud you for remembering that detail from Gulliver’s Travels. I think that reason that we didn’t bring up this perfect point was due to neither me nor Rick remembering it. But now I have this tidbit and am saddened that I don’t know what to do with it. Maybe another chance will come up for us to put it into a script.

Again, thanks for listening and for writing to us. That is very cool.

      -Jeff
