FF #16: One Step Beyond

You can listen to the episode by clicking: Episode 144

The clean-up phase. After any project, there is usually a mess. This is true from everything, be it home remodeling or battling giant space gods. People have done something in the place where you live any you have to clean it up.

This Picture is Intentionally Blurry

The first step in cleaning thing up is to make sure everyone is done messing things up. No sense starting to clean while the Thing is still breaking bar stools. But after that, you need to make sure you keep everyone focused on their jobs. You do not need their heads in the clouds or jumping into space.

Wheee

A project manager is good to have. You need to have someone in charge. You need to have someone to direct the work and make sure things are done. You need to have a dictator.

Doom

Committees can be a bit much during the cleaning phase. Too many opinions, egos, and temperaments. Plus, the blaming and the scapegoatization. I do not know if that is a word, but my computer suggested it to me and so I am keeping it in.

This is Not Good\

The cool thing that no on tells you is that you get to find really cool stuff while cleaning up. Sure, there is a bunch of junk and debris, but at the very least you will find some pocket change or some lost trinket, at the most you will find an artifact that will let you shape the galaxy. Keep your eyes peeled.

Yoink

Do not forget to get someone to handle the big things. You need muscle to really remove the bigger chunks of stuff and to handle cosmic sized messes. And please remember to lift with the knees.

Cosmic

When you are all done with the cleaning, you are going to be left with something beautiful, something new, and something clean. You can admire it and enjoy it…right up until you decide to destroy it all and start over. Isn’t that special.

Admire that view

Oh, do not forget to punish those who did not do enough to clean.

  1. Hello again!

You are doing a great job with each episode.

I have found some interesting features of the cover page. First, the chessboard seems to not be in the correct position, according to the colors of the corners. Secondly, the position given is not possible due to the double-check and the knight’s incapacity to have blocked the queen in the previous round.
Anyway, of course, Valeria wins (it is a checkmate in one movement).

Well, that is what I have found on that chessboard. Have a nice day!

    1. Hi Pablo!

Thank you so much! We put a lot of work into these, so it is very rewarding to hear that people appreciate them.

I am going to bow to your knowledge of chess. Very insightful and accurate. Every couple of years I relearn about chess board positioning and think that it is going to stick with me. Still hasn’t, but maybe this time it will. Dark left, light right. Good eyes on spotting that. I am going to say that piece placement went out the window as Franklin started levitating pieces and having them project a fantasy drama up in the air for them to watch. 🙂 But that is just fancy smoke and mirrors to get Val to forget that she won.

Again, good catch on the chess and thanks for listening and writing us. Looking forward to talking to you later.

      -Jeff
